Swedish 18thC reproduced roller blind kit

This type of blind has widely been used for window dressing since early 18thC. The materials were mainly linen, but also wool and cotton. In an inventory from 1758 in Uppsala, Sweden, a green oil cloth was made into this type of blind in a gentleman’s house.

Our blind kit is supplied with everything you need to make the blind: batten with Velcro to be fixed at the top of the window, cord and hand made glass rings, leather straps and cleat. To make the blind, hem the piece of material you are using and stitch the Velcro onto the top. Make a pocket for the small rod to slip into the bottom part. Fix onto batten and run the cord through rings.
